About This Place

Situated in the heart of Jonesville, Louisiana, Jackie's Riverside Steak is a delightful seafood restaurant and steakhouse that captures the rich culinary heritage of the South with every bite. From the moment you step inside this inviting spot on 4th Street, you’re welcomed by a warm and casual atmosphere perfect for everything from a quick lunch stop to a leisurely family dinner.

The menu here is an ode to classic Southern flavors and seafood delights. The Salad Bar is a fresh, vibrant way to start your meal, showcasing crisp vegetables like pickles, cucumbers, and onions that were a hit with diners like Melanie Martinez. But it’s the fried oysters and shrimp dishes that truly steal the show — indulgently crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they reveal the kitchen’s commitment to perfectly executed seafood. The Shrimp Po' Boy is a generous, mouthwatering choice, praised for its size and satisfying layers, making it a must-have for any visitor craving authentic Louisiana fare.

Steak lovers won’t be disappointed either. The juicy, well-seasoned 10 oz. Top Sirloin paired with shrimp or the hearty Ribeye selections offer robust flavors that balance beautifully with the savory side orders like loaded baked potatoes and crispy French fries. For those who prefer poultry or a comforting hamburger steak, the menu caters to a variety of tastes while maintaining a high standard of deliciousness and quality.

Many visitors have been pleasantly surprised by the buffet-style offerings as well, featuring an array of country favorites such as catfish, hush puppies, cobblers, and puddings. Chip Wells fondly recalls his first experience there, emphasizing how the food’s authenticity and welcoming staff made a lasting impression.

The service at Jackie’s Riverside Steak is consistently warm and accommodating, reflected in Dawn Heiselman’s recount of a friendly visit marked by attentive staff who go the extra mile, such as providing a container of hot water on request. Even unexpected moments, like a brief power outage noted by Chad Murry, didn’t dampen the experience — instead, it highlighted the resilient, community-centered spirit of this beloved local gem.

Whether you're passing through Jonesville or planning a local dining outing, Jackie’s Riverside Steak delivers a rich taste of Louisiana’s seafood and steakhouse traditions. With its combination of flavorful dishes, hearty portions, and genuine Southern hospitality, it’s no wonder patrons like RaDonna Cutrer feel compelled to highly recommend this spot as a must-stop dining destination.

This was my first time trying Jackie’s. I was pleasantly surprised. The buffet was $11.99 plus tax. It had catfish and all kinds of other country foods like cobblers and puddings. The food was delicious, and the people were real friendly. Some of the people eating said I need to come back on the weekend. I will be back!

Driving by and just stopped in .. and boy am I so glad we did! BLT was made just the way my husband likes them. The shrimp po'boy .. I can't say enough about it you can see it's a large serving. I took half of the sandwich and fries back with us. The waitress was very pleasant and friendly, very accommodating when I asked for a container of hot water.

I had heard such great things about Jackie's and when the opportunity arose my wife and I accompanied by our very close friends saddled up and ventured out to dine at Jackie's! We were not disappointed! Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Service was great! Only thing missing was potato salad! But the coleslaw sufficed just fine, The calamari was fried to perfection, catfish was fried to perfection, the frog legs were fried to perfection, the oysters were fried to perfection. You see where I'm going with this? Definitely will venture back on a Saturday night. Crab legs are served. Parking is a little tight but that's understandable given the atmosphere.

Catfish Jackie was great. 1st time visiting. Food was great. Fried Catfish over a bed of rice underneath Crawfish Etouffee. It was lunch time. They have a buffet also.
